SEO Gamechangers!

The Best and Simplest Ways to Improve Site SEO

Welcome to the latest edition of "The SEOpreneur" newsletter from INDMND.com. In this issue, we will dive into the ideas behind my top engaging post from last week and explore why it matters to you.

If people are heavily engaging with one of my LinkedIn posts, it means they want to learn more about the topic. Unfortunately, there is no way to explain in detail all the aspects of SEO. SEO is a complex area that requires constant research and learning.

That's why I've put together an in-depth newsletter for all our loyal subscribers on the top ways to boost your website's SEO.

My second-best engaging LinkedIn post (I just had a WAY more viral one!) last week.

Key Takeaways

  • Use analytics and focus on the keywords ranking 3-30

  • Prioritize (based on your analytics) where to focus your energy on improving

  • Use Ahrefs to compare your rankings now and a month ago

  • Then, to improve SEO on those pages, use catchy headlines, improve your meta description, create content relevant to your target audience, make your site mobile-optimized and fast, focus on user experience, keep up with Google's updates, and promote, promote, promote!

Since we’re doing a deep dive here, we will split these up into two newsletters. This week we will examine using catchy headlines, improving your meta description, and creating content relevant to your target audience.

Next week, we’ll look closer at making your site mobile-optimized and fast, focusing on user experience, and keeping up with Google's updates and promotions. You won’t want to miss it!

Let’s Dive Deeper Into the First Three Aspects of Improving Your Website’s SEO

The first part of this post is finding the keywords (and the articles you generated around them) that you need to improve upon. Then, once you know which ones to improve, use these techniques to get them to rank higher. The more high-ranking keywords and articles you have, your domain rating (DR) will be higher. When you have a high DR, there are endless possibilities for monetization and growth.

Let’s get into the first three aspects of improving your site’s SEO that my followers on LinkedIn wanted to learn more about.

Use Catchy Headlines

I cannot overstate the importance of a great headline.

How many times have you clicked on something just on the headline alone? I know clickbait is not cool, but it’s only clickbait if the content doesn’t deliver what the headline advertises. Use the same principles for clickbait (getting people to click) with your headlines — just make sure your content delivers! (I know, pressure, right?)

The rest of your content is useless if your headline isn't great.

Search engines penalize websites that use clickbait tactics by lowering their ranking in search results. Balancing a catchy headline and an accurate representation of your content is essential.

Your headline is the first thing people see, and it can either encourage them to click and read more or scroll past your content. Catchy headlines relevant to your content and target audience can help your content stand out in a sea of information and grab users' attention.

Plus, catchy headlines can also help improve your website's ranking in search engines. Search engines use complex algorithms to determine which content is most relevant to a user's search query. If your headline accurately reflects the content of your article or page, search engines are more likely to rank your content higher in search results.

Think about what you would type into Google when searching for information. That’s why titles like “How to…” and “The Ultimate Guide to…” works so well. At least get a few words of potential search queries into your title. SEO tools like SurferSEO and Neuron are good for helping with that.

Using catchy headlines that accurately reflect your content and include relevant keywords can help improve your website's ranking in search engines and attract more users to your site.

Meta Descriptions Matter

Making a great meta description is essential to improving your site's SEO because it can attract the right users, improve your click-through rate (CTR), and enhance your website's overall branding and reputation.

  1. You can signal to search engines that your content is relevant to a user's search query by including relevant keywords. This can help improve your site's visibility in search results and attract more organic traffic to your site.

  2. In addition to attracting the right users, a compelling meta description can also improve your CTR. A high CTR indicates to search engines that your content is relevant and useful to users, which can improve your ranking in search results. By using persuasive language and including a clear CTA in your meta description, you can encourage users to click through to your site and engage with your content.

  3. Finally, a well-crafted meta description can also enhance your website's overall branding and reputation. Users who see a meta description accurately reflecting the content they seek are more likely to trust your site and return for future searches. This can help establish your site as a credible and authoritative source of information in your industry.

A good meta description tells people about your site — and Google loves them.

Making a great meta description is a crucial part of any SEO strategy. When you use Surfer or Neuron, they will provide you with keywords and sub-keywords to throw into your meta descriptions to make Google like them even more.

By using relevant keywords, persuasive language, and a clear CTA, you can create a meta description that stands out in search results and drives more traffic to your site. This can help improve your site's visibility, attract the right users, and enhance your website's overall branding and reputation.

Content is King... But Relevance is Queen

Creating relevant content that speaks to your target audience and answers their pain points and questions is critical to the success of your SEO strategy. Here's why:

  1. Relevant content is essential for attracting the right audience to your site. By creating content that speaks directly to your target audience, you can better connect with them and address their specific needs and interests.

  2. Relevant content can also help improve your site's ranking in search results. Search engines use complex algorithms to determine which content is most relevant to a user's search query. By creating high-quality content that includes relevant keywords, you can signal to search engines that your site is a credible source of information in your industry.

  3. Creating relevant content that addresses your audience's pain points and questions can also help establish your site as a thought leader in your industry. Build trust and credibility with your audience and position your site as a go-to resource for information in your industry.

  4. Finally, it helps drive conversions and sales. This is key. By addressing your audience's specific pain points and questions, you can better understand their needs and preferences and tailor your products or services to meet those needs. You want to improve the user experience on your site and encourage users to take action, such as making a purchase or signing up for a newsletter.

No one will read your content unless it’s relevant — even if it’s good content.

REMEMBER: You cannot get sales and make money from your site unless you provide value to your customers. You need to build trust first (no clickbait headlines without relevant content, remember?), and then you can monetize. That’s why Google places so much emphasis on EEAT (experience, expertise, authority, and trustworthiness) when ranking sites.

Creating relevant content that speaks to your target audience and answers their pain points and questions is critical to the success of your SEO strategy. In order to achieve your SEO goals and grow your business, you need to attract the right audience, improve your ranking in search results, establish your site as a thought leader, and drive conversions and sales.
